Extremely Fast, High-Quality Attenuation Correction
Most PET•CT systems are designed with patient ports of 70 cm in diameter, yet they employ a 50 cm transverse field of view CT image for attenuation correction. Since a patient's body could extend beyond this 50 cm diameter, attenuated photons outside that 50 cm area would not be accounted for, leading to attenuation artifacts and quantitative inaccuracies in the resulting PET images.
AC Plus accounts for patient anatomy resting outside of the 50 cm area and offers the most accurate attenuation correction without CT truncation artifacts. The result is a PET•CT scanner with extremely fast, high-quality attenuation correction.
