The animation above illustrates the process of the CARE Dose4D technology and how Siemens addresses dose concerns in CT. The rotating tube/detector measures attenuation and controls mAs output as the CT gantry rotates around the patient, and the patient's body position changes. Most times the patient's attenuation curve matches a sine wave shape on a graph. This curve is the variation signal that is placed on the output of the X-ray tube, actively during the CT acquisition.
