Highly Efficient Scatter Correction
Scatter correction is a vital component of PET image quality — particularly in cardiology, where scattered photons often result from activity of structures near the heart, such as the liver and intestines.
Without scatter correction, images can degrade, making analysis difficult. To improve image analysis and, thus, the assessment of patients, TruePoint technology includes TrueC, a highly efficient, model-based Compton scatter correction system. Specific Monte Carlo calculations are used for each patient and position, providing individualized scatter correction to improve diagnostic confidence.
