PresentersWilliam Fraser, PhD William D. Fraser is the professor of medicine at Norwich Medical School, UK. He participates on the editorial board of several journals, serves as a director of the Supra Regional Assay Service for bone metabolism and calcium homeostasis, and acts as a medical advisor to the National Osteoporosis Society. He has a long-standing interest in the pathogenesis and treatment of osteoporosis and Paget's disease, and the role of biochemical markers in the evaluation of patients with bone diseases. Dr. Fraser’s laboratory is one of the largest in the UK and processes more than 3,000 patient samples and 1,000 immunoassay tests daily. Markus Herrmann, MD

Dr. Amy S. Fox is board-certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease Medicine. She is the director of the virology laboratory at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY, where she acts as medical consultant for assessment of sexually transmitted diseases, congenital infection, and other viral syndromes. The Virology Laboratory at Montefiore Medical Center is the largest not-for-profit HIV diagnostic testing service in the tri-state area. Dr. Fox has research experience focusing on the pre-analytic and post-analytic assessment of POC devices with a focus in the area of infectious diseases.
Dr. Katherine Soreng received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington. She was awarded a PhD in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis from Emory University. She submitted and won a grant from the ASM for a two-year postdoctoral appointment at the CDC. Following her tenure at the CDC, she entered the commercial arena, working as a molecular diagnostic specialist. Dr. Soreng joined Siemens as scientific affairs liaison in 2004, with a focus on cardiology, oncology, and infectious disease. She currently heads clinical marketing and scientific publications, with an emphasis on disease-state-specific testing.
