Support of diagnosis and therapy with 3D visualizations
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most frequently encountered arrhythmias in clinical settings. Electrical isolation of the pulmonary veins with radiofrequency ablation has become a well-established technique for treating AF. However, even if the success rates in preventing recurrence of AF episodes are high, this treatment is associated with a significant incidence of pulmonary vein (PV) stenosis, esophagus fistula and other rare complications.
To minimize these risks, 3D visualizations and analysis of the left atrium are necessary and important. Therefore, we developed syngo Inspace EP, a software application based on preprocedural CT or MR images to explore the following:
