Transcatheter Hands-on Trainings
Intensive hands-on training from experienced surgeons and interventional cardiologists
New transcatheter technologies for example for the treatment of valvular heart diseases have been introduced to the medical world. These procedures require cardiac surgeons and interventional cardiologists to understand and practice the new processes and technologies being used in the cath lab or hybrid OR. Practical, interactive hands-on training in small learning groups is widely recognized as one of the most successful methods to master new techniques.
In an effort to create a comprehensive training course for those interested in moving into the field of trans catheter technologies, Prof. Voelker, an interventional cardiologist, together with Dr. Jönsson and Dr. Maisano, both cardiac surgeons, have worked together to design this unique 2-day training course. The combined knowledge and experience of these physicians, together with the usage of simulation and real imaging devices assures that participants of this course will experience first-class training on transcatheter technologies. In simulated cath lab conditions you will extend your ”know-how“ in transcatheter technologies, from accessing and closing the vessels, angiographic projections, the right selection and handling of catheter materials, to complication management, and transcatheter valve technologies.

Vascular Medicine Training
The Hybrid OR - A New Vascular Workplace
Endovascular techniques, alone or in combination with open arterial reconstruction, have been steadily gaining in significance in vascular therapy. Workflow and technical equipment are key successful work in the hybrid OR.
This training explores the full range of functionality of modern angio devices in a pleasant workshop atmosphere. We limit the number of attendees to ensure that every participant receives intensive training and every question is fully addressed. The goal of the workshop is to enable physicians to immediately apply their newly developed skills in daily clinical practice.
Dr. Markus Steinbauer and Prof. Giovanni Torsello will lead the workshop, to be held in either Münster or Regensburg, and the language is German.
Hybrid OR Forum
Experiences and Perspectives
This event gives participants the opportunity to share their experiences in the planning, installation and use of a top-quality angiography system in the OR environment, as well as to discuss clinical cases and the training requirements for optimum system use. The forum will cover the following topics:
- Hybrid OR – current status and future
- Planning and implementation of an angio system in the OR
- Interdisciplinary use of the hybrid OR
- Introduction and exploration of the hybrid OR in vascular surgery
Fellowships
Fellowships for cardiac surgeons or interventional cardiologists
You now have the opportunity to do fellowships of one to five days at one of the world's most renowned cardiac centers for transcatheter aortic valve implantations. Every fellowship program includes one or several TAVI procedures, discussion of diagnosis and results, and is managed by an experienced surgeon.
