Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Manufacturing Limited is sharing its experience of ‘Lean’ business processes from a manufacturing perspective with the Histopathology department of Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust in Greater London via a series of visits to the Suffolk plant. Sudbury manufacturing plant Lean-ing towards collaboration with NHS delegation

Sudbury-based manufacturer and local employer of over 260 people, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Manufacturing Limited, is sharing its experience of ‘Lean’ business processes from a manufacturing perspective with the Histopathology department of Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust in Greater London. A series of visits to the plant have been arranged. The Sudbury site designs and assembles specialist instrumentation for laboratories and hospitals around the world to do quick blood or urine testing. The devices are usually found in Accident and Emergency Departments, Intensive Care Units or specialist patient wards where doctors and nurses need quick information such as blood gas levels to make an accurate diagnosis.
