Dose savings in Molecular Imaging
CARE improves patient safety and economical outcomes
MI’s scanners use radioactive imaging biomarkers to visualize biological processes of life. Molecular imaging is one of the fastest growing imaging tests making it even more important to administer the lowest dose possible. Our innovative CARE solutions reduce the amount of injected dose to the patient. Not only is patient care enhanced but radiopharmaceuticals are used more efficiently, thereby providing positive economical outcomes.
Half dose and double speed with Biograph mCT
The Biograph® mCT is the only PET•CT system which can offer a wide range of flexibility in patient dose reduction and acquisition length. Patient dose can be reduced while at the same time increasing scan speed. By offering solutions such as IRIS, TrueV and HD technologies, Siemens can provide routine PET•CT imaging using half dose and double speed.
Half dose and double speed with Symbia SPECT•CT
Symbia’s proven technologies provide a comprehensive cardiac workup while easing the burden of the global molybdenum shortage by reducing the consumption of technetium dose. IQ•SPECT technology enables routine cardiac SPECT scans using half the dose and double the speed. With a cardio-centric orbit and collimators which center on and magnify the heart, the Symbia can perform a diagnostic SPECT•CT, including calcium scoring, using half the injected dose and in half the time.

Dose Documentation for Computed Tomography
Increased patient care
With Utilization Management, dose information is made available in all basic and advanced reports for SOMATOM Definition systems (from SW version syngo® CT2008G). It is an easy way to track system and dose utilization details at the point of care. With these reports, users can see if any specific values have been exceeded, indicating that a significant radiation dose has been administered.
Visibility of dose usage data on a monthly or multi-monthly period
Users get an overview of the total number and the percentage split of all selected protocols, while also seeing the available dose information for the dedicated period. The relevant dose values for a CT examination are the CT dose index volume (CTDIvol) and the dose length product (DLP).
Easy to obtain dose information
The dose information is already included in the basic report of the proactive service Siemens Utilization Management. Users obtain the section for total number of scan ranges and available dose information under examination types.
