The CARE program combines a variety of cutting-edge radiation protection functions designed to reduce radiation dosage for the patient and the operator. For the hospital, the new CARE package also makes dose reporting easy and structured.
CARE Benefits
• Reduces patient and operator dose to a minimum
• Provides dose monitoring during the procedure
• Makes dose reporting easy and structured
• Standard with every Artis zee® system

Advanced dose-saving technologies effectively reduce radiation dose for patient and operator.
CAREvision provides variable fluoro pulse rates that can be adapted according to the clinical need: from 30 pulses per second (p/s) in various steps, down to 0.5 p/s. The reduction from 30 p/s to 7.5 p/s results in a dose saving of 75%.

CAREprofile allows radiation-free collimation and semitransparent filter parameter setting to precisely target the region of interest.

CAREposition provides radiation-free object positioning. Graphic display of the detector position in the last image hold (LIH) allows panning the table or moving the C-arm without fluoroscopy.

The low-dose syngo DynaCT protocol provides 3D information during the treatment of very radiosensitive patients such as children. 3D imaging results can be achieved at only 0.3 mSv* (neuro).
* Based on Alderson phantom according to ICRP 60 or 103.
3D imaging with low-dose syngo DynaCT at only 0.3 mSv
Low-dose acquisition provides excellent image quality with a dose reduction of up to 67% in comparison to normal acquisition protocols. One acquisition pedal of the foot switch can be configured as a low-dose acquisition pedal.
Low-dose acquisition imaging at only 0.9 µGy
CAREfilter achieves skin dose reduction of up to 50% by adjustment of the filter size. The variable filtration, 0.2 to 0.9 mm during digital acquisition and 0.0 to 0.9 mm during fluoroscopy, is set automatically according to patient weight and angulation of the C-arm.
With the dose-monitoring features of the Artis zee® system, skin dose control becomes easy and efficient.
CAREguard provides an effective way to control skin dose. Three skin dose threshold values can be defined. If the accumulated skin dose exceeds a configured threshold, a warning sound is given and a pop-up displays on the system.

With CAREwatch, the dose area product and dose rate at the interventional reference point are displayed on the live display in the examination and control room.

State-of-the art reporting solutions enable efficient and transparent reporting and documentation of radiation dose.
CAREreport is a DICOM structured dose report; it contains all patient demographics, procedures, and dose information. Using commercially available programs or in-house software, this information can be filtered for further processing, such as dose analysis.
