It’s a new era in imaging software, more deeply integrated with clinical imaging modalities than ever before. Start off an exciting experience in efficiency and ease of use: Images, my way – at RSNA 2009.
Don´t wait until RSNA, get a first sneak peek before the official release at RSNA
* Prerequisites include: Internet connection to clinical network, DICOM compliance, meeting of minimum hardware requirements, and adherence to local data security regulations
Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS)
Can I have my images automatically opened in 2D, 3D and 4D?
The new PACS solution* combines 2D, 3D, and 4D reading – enabling fast reading in any dimension – together in one place. The system features case-specific reading, automatically knowing when to call up specific applications. It remembers users’ preferences, sorts images accordingly, and allows users to adapt reading tools and layouts to their needs. Due to its flexibility and minimal hardware requirements, existing hardware can be leveraged and storage capacity can be easily added.

Interventional Radiology
Did you know that cancer therapy is changing?
Each year, more than 10.6 million patients are diagnosed with cancer worldwide. Many cancer patients develop metastases, which are largely not surgically treatable. Until now.
With image-guided solutions to support interventional oncology, Siemens is helping physicians to set new standards in minimally-invasive cancer care. The Artis zee family and its advanced imaging applications, offer superb support for minimally invasive treatments – the treatments of choice for patients that cannot be operated.
Computed Tomography
Iterative Reconstruction in Image Space - IRIS
As dose reduction has continued to be given top priority within Siemens Healthcare, assuring both patients and medical personnel the best in medical care with the least possible risk, we are now introducing another low dose solution.
Once again Siemens has set the benchmark on low dose imaging with the introduction of iterative reconstruction. With IRIS, the Siemens high-end SOMATOM® Definition scanners deliver excellent diagnostic image quality with levels of dose lower than ever before. With IRIS, up to 60 % additional dose reduction can be achieved in a wide range of daily routine CT applications.
In support of these innovations we are highlighting our continued comprehensive technical and clinical service offerings with our complete portfolio.
Molecular Imaging
Delivering the ultimate power of Molecular Imaging
The focus of the Molecular Imaging exhibit will be our powerful PET•CT imaging solution, starting with the state-of-the art imaging capabilities of the Biograph mCT, the world’s first molecular CT. Designed to help you maximize your resource utilization with shared PET and CT services, it also helps deliver a better return-on-investment than with a dedicated CT. Add our new imaging software that redefines PET•CT reading and a diverse portfolio of biomarkers from PETNET Solutions, and you’ll see how Siemens is delivering powerful molecular imaging solutions to your radiology suite.
Ultrasound
Innovations that take your diagnostic confidence to the next level
Siemens Ultrasound RSNA highlights include significant advancements in Tissue Strain Analytics, contrast agent imaging and new volume applications for OB/GYN on the Siemens ACUSON S2000™ ultrasound platform; expanded clinical applications for the ACUSON® X300™ ultrasound system, Premium Edition (PE) including contrast agent* imaging; and the revolutionary ACUSON S2000™ Automated Breast Volume Scanner (ABVS).

New Dimensions in Ultrasound
Hyatt Regency, McCormick Place Hotel, Chicago, IL
Sunday, November 29, 6:00-8:00 pm
* At the time of publication, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has cleared ultrasound contrast agents only for use in LVO. Check the current regulation for the country in which you are using this system for contrast agent clearance.
Breast Care Solutions
You think breast care goes beyond 2D mammography?
Then invest in the future and be part of breast care going 3D. Feel the excitement of new dimensions in mammography and ultrasound, and you can be sure that not only your patients will feel the difference. This new level of imaging will define a new level of workflow for you.
Digital Radiography
Ysio – as individual as your routine
Ysio is a digital radiography solution that can be tailored exactly to the customers’ routine. It’s available in a variety of combinations: as a wall stand with an integrated detector; a wall and table system with a wireless detector (wi-D) or even as a 2-detector solution. The handling of the wi-D is highly flexible and versatile: the imaging source can be positioned right to the patient.
New functions like the optional Ortho acquisition or the management of rejected images with reject analysis will be shown.
Fluoroscopy
AXIOM Luminos dRF – the 2-in-1 solution for fluoroscopy and radiography
AXIOM Luminos dRF is a fully digital fluoroscopy system with optimal patient access and a large 43 cm x 43 cm dynamic flat detector. It covers both areas of fluoroscopy and radiography and therefore accommodates high patient throughput for both types of exams.
AXIOM Luminos dRF can now optionally be combined with Ysio options, including the wireless detector (wi-D), the ceiling-suspended tube with MaxTouch user interface and the Bucky wall stand – offering virtually limitless projection flexibility.
Surgery
Innovations in image guided surgery: Planning, imaging and navigation
Surgeons are increasingly relying on advanced diagnostic imaging tools and innovative clinical software applications for precise pre-operative planning and intraoperative navigation to improve their clinical outcomes. These image guided surgery solutions improve surgical workflows by making operations more accurate and more efficient - and, in turn, support a faster healing process.
Oncology Care
Fighting cancer – fast and focused
Cancer needs a determined fight. We are convinced that successful radiation therapy calls for the optimal resultant of speed and precision. Speed alone at the cost of precision means to unacceptably increase the chance of affecting healthy surrounding tissue. And precision alone at the cost of speed means to lose short treatment times, high patient throughput, and a convenient patient experience.
That’s why our radiation therapy solutions aim to give you the optimum of both, an intelligent balance of speed and precision. Together we are fighting cancer.
Healthcare Lighting
Esprit – Efficiency – Excellence
An optimized lighting concept around the modality is an efficient solution, to create a soothing healthcare environment. Light, color, sound and visuals help to ease stress and anxiety. Favorable lighting conditions and attractive interior design strongly influence the well-being of patients and the daily work efficiency.
Proven Excellence – Sustainable Impact
Going green from all angles
Refurbishing preowned medical equipment with high quality standards is like giving these systems a second life. The environmentally friendly refurbished systems from Siemens Healthcare, manufactured under the Proven Excellence program, will now be combined with a plan aimed at breathing second life into the ecosystem by aiding in reforestation efforts. Combating harmful carbon emissions from two angles make this campaign a truly unique green solution in Siemens’ environmental protection portfolio.
