Patients and referrers at Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul welcome the regular maintenance of the hospital’s medical imaging equipment by Siemens – and Anadolu Medical Center thus prominently displays Siemens UPTIME Services certificates for their radiological, angiography, cardiology, molecular imaging, PACS, and radiation therapy systems. Says Türkan Özilhan, Director of Logistic Services at the hospital: “Patients appreciate to be informed about the management of the medical equipment in the hospital. They feel that they are in good hands and are confident with the accuracy of the diagnosis and the effectiveness of the treatment they receive.”
Periodic maintenance and calibration of the medical equipment used for the diagnosis and treatment of patients is a major indication of Anadolu’s quality policy and sensitivity to patient safety. The diagnosis and treatment performed by a periodically and properly maintained and calibrated system is more accurate and effective, for both the patient and the user. A patient scanned with properly maintained and calibrated X-ray equipment is, for example, exposed to less radiation compared to other equipment.
Thanks to the regular service and proper maintenance, Anadolu also experiences fewer downtimes and less scheduling and workflow disruption – a fact that also positively impacts the hospital’s cost management. In Turkey, every hospital or department with a Siemens maintenance contract receives a certificate from Siemens UPTIME Services. UPTIME Services in Germany has also introduced the service certificates a few years ago and has had great success with them ever since. The certificates are handed over personally to the customer, which further strengthens the customer contact and increases customer satisfaction.
