Siemens Stroke for Stroke campaign, which was launched in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2007, was created to encourage regular exercise to decrease the risk of stroke. Stroke for Stroke promotes the company’s sponsorship of the British rowing team and raises funds for The Stroke Association. It is because of this campaign that Siemens has been awarded the Corporate Supporter Award at the Life After Stroke Awards held by The Stroke Association in Central London in June 2009. The Life After Stroke Awards not only recognizes stroke patients who have shown outstanding determination and courage in rebuilding their lives thereafter but also recognizes caretakers, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and charity supporters who have shown compassion and commitment in helping stroke patients.

 

Helping prevent and treat strokes in people of all ages is the sole concern for the UK’s stroke charity –The Stroke Association. With funds going into prevention, treatment, and better methods of rehabilitation, The Stoke Association aids stroke patients and their families through its community services. Campaigning, educating, and informing about strokes is another task of this charity.
