Innovations, an annual comprehensive education symposium from Siemens' Health Services business unit in the USA, provides Hospital Information Systems (HIS) customers with education, practical advice, industry insight, and networking opportunities.
August 2009 marked the date of this year’s symposium, which was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with global participation. The Innovations agenda was comprised of over 20 different program tracks and over 200 sessions. Furthermore, the program consisted of customer success stories, clinical and product optimization breakout sessions, solution updates, and demonstrations by product and industry experts, aimed at customers to aid in the improvement of skills, in the learning of new techniques, and in the maximization of Siemens systems, all while obtaining the opportunity to network with peers.
Siemens also celebrated the winners of the 2009 Inspired Healthcare Outcomes Challenge. Customers were invited to submit information on their innovations and best practices using Siemens solutions. Winners received a US$10,000 Siemens Webshop voucher.
Moreover, the symposium was highlighted by guest speakers Pat Croce, entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker, and Janet Dillione, CEO of Siemens Healthcare’s Health Services. Additionally, updates to the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) were a reoccurring topic at this year’s Innovations symposium. They provided customers with reassurance and confidence in their purchases of Siemens Hospital IT solutions.
