One of the first facilities in North America to receive an Artis zee® interventional imaging system was Bethesda Heart Institute in Boynton Beach, Florida. Bethesda Memorial Hospital is a 401-bed community hospital. The facility recently opened an all-new, all-private-room, 10,684-squaremeter “heart hospital within a hospital” with 39 beds committed to cardiac care. The new facility includes two cardiac catheterization labs featuring the Artis zee, the syngo® Dynamics multi-modality system for diagnostic image review, dynamic image processing and archiving, and two dedicated open-heart operating rooms.
“Artis zee from Siemens is extremely fast and provides superb imaging,” says Louis D. Snyder, MD, the institute’s medical director. “The imaging enhancements mean we can see vessel edges more clearly and position stents with greater confidence, resulting in more effective treatment for our patients as well as greater efficiencies in our workflow.” Bethesda also installed a Dual Source CT to further enhance their ability to diagnose cardiac patients. The community and physicians are showing generous support for the new facility, clearly impressed by the level of detailed planning and its technological advancements.
Artis zee is Siemens next generation of interventional imaging systems for cardiology, offering enhanced image quality, optimized workflow, and increased return on investment. About 500 sites around the world are already using the new Artis zee family today.
