syngo® TrueD is Siemens advanced cancer management tool for hybrid imaging. While supporting the entire oncology imaging workflow – from diagnosis and staging to therapy planning and follow-up – it also provides images with accuracy, confidence, and speed. The software finds its use in PET•CT (positron emission tomography-computed tomography), where metabolic images are superimposed on anatomical images. With hybrid imaging, tumors can be detected no longer by mere appearance, rather through using their metabolism as well.
In Germany, physicians are convinced of its clinical potential. According to Andreas Wahl, MD, of the PET Center in Hamburg, “The uniqueness of syngo TrueD is its ability to work with large volumes of data associated with hybrid imaging while simultaneously providing a comparison mode. This integrated combination was not previously available. Now, using syngo TrueD, up to six data sets can be loaded – e.g. three CT scans and three PET examinations – to establish a direct relationship between images acquired at different points in time even from a quantitative view.” He also cites workflow advantages with the software due to flexible screen layouts and tools as well as an automatic registration, which reduce the handling and evaluating times for the data.
