Course Description
The SIENET Cosmos System Manger Clinical course is a four and one half day course created to instruct and familiarize customers with PACS as well as assist the customer to better understand the design/implementation of their PACS project. Students learn the components of the Cosmos workstation and Archive Server as well as the application software associated with the Cosmos Syngo Advanced Viewing Studio, Cosmos Standard Viewing Studio, and the Sienet Syngo viewer/web application. They learn the intricacies associated with changing from a film-based environment to one that is filmless. Through lecture and interactive practical application, the participants will become familiar with the basic set up and functionality of the Cosmos workstation. This intensive course will give students the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical experience to become immediately productive at a specific of defined Cosmos RIS/PACS system administration skills. Skill competency will be measured by requiring the customer to participate in a written test. Successful completion 80%

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

• Understand basic networking concepts and workflow throught the IDM (Image Data Management) Server.
• Open and close studies using NOVIOUS RIS
• Use of Interactive Documents
• PACS Exception Maintenance
• Configure a workstation i.e.; Set up individual user accounts
• Become familiar with the System Set Up model
• Setting up user tool cards
• Fully utilize all of the system options and icons such as:
• Opening and closing patient files
• Setting up Study List
• Image Text Changes and manipulation
• Window and leveling manual and setting up default values
• Selecting of layouts for modality specific examinations
• Scrolling Images
• Image Navigator,
• Linier and Angle measurements and Calibration requirements
• Perform maintenance functions are required for IDM Management
• Analyze and maintain networks with regards to workflow

Audience
Siemens customer PACS System Administrators/Managers (Imaging Clinical & IT System Manager)

Course/Skill Prerequisites:
Basic PC understanding strongly recommended. Prior experience working with PACS systems or Siemens modalities.

Course Information
Classes begin at 08:30 AM each day and end at 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 08:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday.
