IVUS enables precise tomographic assessment of lumen area, plaque size, and composition of a coronary segment. In addition proper apposition of a deployed stent to the vessel wall can be verified. The open architecture of the Artis zee supports integration of an intravascular ultrasound system. IVUS images can then be displayed on the in-room monitor.
