SOMATOM Definition Flash with Stellar Detectors
SOMATOM® Definition Flash is now available with the new Stellar Detectors – revolutionary detectors that virtually eliminate electronic noise. TrueSignal Technology fully integrates the electronic components of the detector elements with the photodiode for the first time, thereby drastically reducing electronic noise and cross-talk, and increasing the signal-to-noise ratio. Without cross-talk, intrinsic slice blurring between neighboring detector rows can be avoided and individual slice profiles are much more precise.
The Stellar Detectors in SOMATOM Definition Flash generate ultra-thin slices with very high spatial resolution for an extremely high level of visual detail, but are also designed for ultra-low-signal imaging, which make them invaluable, especially for obese and pediatric patients or Dual Energy applications. Together with HiDynamics, Stellar Detectors mark the third generation Dual Energy CT with unprecedented low kV and with an image quality comparable to the quality of the high kV dataset.
