Goals and Objectives

• Develop an understanding of syngo Dosimetrist basics, including, but not limited to, Localization, Reference Point Management and Simulation
• Develop a working knowledge of syngo Dosimetrist Workspace system configuration and laser commissioning
• Develop a working knowledge and understanding of 3-D fusion and contouring in the 3-D Task Card
• Ability to perform the virtual simulation workflow process.

• Through comprehensive lectures and hands-on practice, understand the operational concept of the syngo Dosimetrist Workspace
• Through hands-on practice and classroom training, navigate using the patient browser, and load patient records/images from CD
• Through hands-on practice, demonstrate proficiency when navigating virtual simulation mode, localizing structures, defining reference points, and defining beam placement and parameters.
• Competently work with three-dimensional segmentation and structure manipulation
• Through hands-on practice, demonstrate proficiency when fusing images and registering fused images.
• Through comprehensive classroom lectures, understand the use of the Service User Interface and laser commissioning
• Utilizing provided CT, external laser system and software, demonstrate comprehension and perform the virtual simulation workflow process.

Course Description
This course is designed for OCS customers needing a working knowledge of the use of the syngo Dosimetrist Workspace™. Instructional materials support the major workflows for CT simulation, including clinical simulation and structure-based simulation. The course also provides training on tools supporting the use of movable lasers, transfer of information to planning systems, and information transfer to delivery systems. Tools include sophisticated localization and visualization techniques, including image fusion and full three-dimensional segmentation and manipulation of structures. In addition to classroom training, a practical session utilizing CT and an external laser system in conjunction with syngo Dosimetrist provides the participants an opportunity to perform the virtual simulation workflow process. This learning experience emphasizes a hands-on approach.

Course/Skill Prerequisites
Participants must have a minimum of 1 year performing virtual simulation or as a Dosimetrist. Experience using the syngo platform is helpful but not required.

Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. will provide the following training for OCS customers requiring this knowledge. This is a four-day training course from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, to be held in the Siemens Training and Development Center in Cary, North Carolina. Focusing on functionality, operation and optimization, the course is designed to introduce customers to the basics of virtual simulation using the syngo Dosimetrist Workspace. All functionality is described and demonstrated in class with hands-on sessions. The effects of this training and the impact on virtual simulation workflow will be clearly defined and explained. The classroom setting provides an environment conducive to learning without distractions and opportunities for questions and answers.
