Jim Reid-Anderson was appointed Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Healthcare Sector in May 2008.
Jim’s strong multicultural background, teamwork, open communication style, and action orientation are helping to drive Siemens Healthcare forward as the leading Integrated Healthcare Company.
In 1980, Reid-Anderson earned an Honors Degree in commerce and international finance of the University of Birmingham in England, followed by a fellowship from the UK Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
His career has guided him through Europe, Asia, and North America: In different businesses he held various financial and operational positions of increasing responsibility for Mobil Oil Corporation and Tricentrol PLC in the UK; Diageo (Grand Metropolitan) PLC in London, New Jersey and Minneapolis; Pepsico in Cyprus, New York, and Singapore; and Wilson Sporting Goods in the US.
Reid-Anderson joined Dade Behring Inc., Deerfield, Illinois, USA, in 1996 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and became Chief Administrative Officer in September 1997 while holding the position as CFO. In April 1999, Reid-Anderson was promoted to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer, and was appointed CEO in September 2000. He was elected as Chairman of the Board in October 2002.
In these positions he helped lead the consolidation of the diagnostics industry as Baxter, Behring, and DuPont’s diagnostics businesses came together, with Dade Behring ultimately enjoying tremendous success as an independent public company.
After Siemens acquired Dade Behring in 2007, Jim Reid-Anderson was appointed CEO of the Diagnostics Division of Siemens Healthcare Sector. The integration of Dade Behring, Diagnostics Products Corporation (DPC) and Bayer Diagnostics into one Division of the Healthcare Sector began under his leadership and the company is now the number one player in the industry.
As CEO of Siemens Healthcare Jim is building upon the company’s great innovation success by driving a strategy of customer excellence. In 2008, Siemens Healthcare became the number one healthcare company in the world.
He is married, has four children, and lives in Illinois.
