Can I retrieve medical images and data from other departments in the hospital?
Yes. AXIOM Artis supports full DICOM functionality, allowing easy and efficient transmission and exchange of data. With AXIOM Artis you transcend the limits of the typical examina- tion room, because the system is no longer a stand-alone system, rather it is part of the overall hospital data manage- ment system. Depending on your individual needs, you can archive data directly to the network, via DICOM on the hard copy camera, or on CD. With the Query/Retrieve function in the imaging system, you can access images from various modalities, not only via an external workstation, but right in the examination room itself.
Is it possible to analyze images and determine therapy while still in the examination room?
You are in complete control of the system, and you are able to perform all worksteps in the patient's vicinity, at the patient table. This gives you immediate access to important decision making criteria to determine how the examination will proceed. For example, you are able to quickly select the desired exposure or fluoroscopy frame rate, or to perform stenosis and left ventricle assessment during an ongoing examination.
Is it possible to access archived images and patient data without problems during the course of the examination?
Yes. With AXIOM you are in control right from the examination table. During the course of an examination it is possible to view archived images and other patient data. With the DICOM Query/Retrieve function, you can receive images from other modalities, even in the imaging system, which can then be displayed directly in the examination room, an extremely useful and unique feature.
Is the image quality automatically optimized?
Yes, through DDO. Dynamic Density Optimization (DDO) is new and an additional quantum leap in image quality. DDO works in real-time and harmonizes the distribution of gray steps in the image. The diagnostic quality of your images is enhanced and provides you with more detailed information.
Is it possible to reduce radiation exposure while positioning the patient?
CAREPOSITION, the new and unique Siemens functionality, allows for patient positioning without radiation. Through the use of graphic markers in the last image hold, you can position the current image relative to the last fluoro image. You save on radiation and protect your patients.
How can I quickly move the system into the desired position?
The convenient TCC control console (Touchscreen Control Console) facilitates operation via the integrated multifunction joystick. "Electronic index tabs" simultaneously, provide you with a quick overview of headings like "Examination", "Post- processing", and "Quantification". The most important imaging system functions are always visible and simple to operate. The color-coded user interface is also clear and easy to control, even under its sterile covering.
Are preset working positions available?
According to the particular application profile, you use the joystick to bring the system into pre-programmed working positions, saving you time and simplifying the examination process.
Can I view CT, MR, and angiographic images on the same screen?
The unique Multimodality Display enables you to display CT and MR images in the examination room - on the same screen as your angiography images. The benefit for you is, a direct comparison of images in the examination room with an immediate decision regarding therapy. No more time consuming comparisons of images from different modalities outside the examination room. This increases safety and reduces examination times, a noticeable advantage for both physician and patient, and all of this helps to reduce costs.
Can I incorporate my system in a DICOM network?
Perfectly integrated into the hospital information system, AXIOM Artis MP provides you with new opportunities for workflow improvement. Depending on your individual requirements, you can save data directly to the network, via DICOM to the hardcopy camera, or onto CD. You have a full range of choices when accessing archived images too, with the DICOM Query/Retrieve function, you can receive images from all modalities, even in the imaging system, which can then be displayed directly in the examination room, an extremely useful feature, and unique among multifunctional systems.
What is the course of a peripheral examination?
In peripheral angiography with stepping, using only one contrast medium injection, the object region being examined is imaged in individual segments. During this run, optimum acquisition parameters are determined automatically. The Last Image Hold in the fluoroscopic mode allows radiation- free collimation and positioning of the semi-transparent filters. Afterwards the mask run is performed. Once all masks are acquired, the system automatically changes to the DSA technique allowing it to monitor the flow of the contrast medium. Depending on the flow rate, the stepping can then be adjusted individually.
What is the weight limit on an Artis MP table?
The patient weight limit on an Artis MP table is 440 pounds (200 kg).
What is the advantage of DYNAVISION for 3D reconstructions?
DYNAVISION is a system -integrated solution for 3D image reconstructions in rotational angiography. The imaging system, generator system and stand work smoothly and effectively together, thus providing optimal matching of the mask and the filling images. DYNAVISION generates the exposures with angle-triggering (DYNAMATCH); an extremely precise match is achieved through the fixed assignment of mask and fill images, even at low frame rates and fast rotation. It also minimizes the patient dose, reduces examination time and improves image quality and patient comfort.
Can I use AXIOM Artis MP to create an image series, e.g., to display a complete spinal examination?
Yes. AXIOM Artis MP composing mode is a function that allows you to acquire an image series. With the help of the LEONARDO DR software package, the LEONARDO workstation then generates digital survey acquisitions.
Applications:
LEONARDO Spine for digital survey images of the spine.
LEONARDO OrthoLeg for digital survey images of the entire lower extremities.
LEONARDO AngioLeg for survey images of peripheral vessels.
