Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has become the 50th hospital in the UK to install syngo®.via from Siemens Healthcare. The advanced client-server application is initially being used with a newly installed SOMATOM® Definition Flash CT for the swift collation, pre-processing and interpretation of clinical images. It has already allowed the hospital to reduce queues for workstations and it is hoped will eventually improve overall departmental workflow. In due course it will also be linked to MRI image reporting. More

Siemens Healthcare has enhanced its syngo®.via multimodality image reporting application. The VA11 update offers radiologists a raft of benefits over the initial version of the platform. These include increased reading efficiency to assist with report turnaround time and to help ease costs; an expanded number of clinical applications, more than doubling the previous portfolio; and broader multimodality support. Russells Hall Hospital, part of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, has transformed its Emergency Department (ED) from paper to fully electronic by working with Siemens to develop Soarian® Clinicals to meet the needs of the department. The landmark deployment is installed within the hospital’s large Emergency Department, which annually treats around 100,000 new patients. More
