Deerfield, Ill., May 6, 2009 – Siemens Healthcare (www.siemens.com/diagnostics) announces the availability of the CLINITEK® AUWi System, the combination of two of the most widely used urine analyzers in the clinical laboratory– the CLINTEK Atlas® Automated Urine Chemistry Analyzer and the Sysmex UF-1000i™ Urine Cell Analyzer.
By combining these two proven analyzers, the CLINITEK AUWi System streamlines workflow by automatically transporting samples from one workstation to another, allowing laboratory personnel over an hour of walk-away time to perform other tasks and duties. The new system reduces the time and labor associated with manual microscopic analysis and automatically manages samples requiring sediment analysis. The CLINITEK AUWi System also automatically verifies results to be reported to the Laboratory Information System (LIS), minimizing follow-up by laboratory personnel and integrating patient data into a single patient record for easy review.
Each CLINITEK AUWi System comes equipped with a new intuitive and easy–to-use software program that allows the user to control the testing process. The software (referred to as WAM software) provides auto-validation of results and then releases it to the LIS, reducing the amount of time spent reviewing data. The system also has customer-defined rules criteria that reduce review rates and offline testing, while increasing productivity.
