The two companies are working together for more efficient electrophysiology ablation procedures and to shorten the treatment time for the patient. The results have been incorporated into the Sensis XP systems by Siemens, which now communi-cates bidirectionally with the electroanatomical mapping system of Biosense Webster. On this basis, Siemens introduces a new generation of integrated work-places for all hemodynamic and electrophysiological examinations that improve clinical workflow in the cath lab.
The measuring system Sensis XP detects the sources of electrophysiological irregulari-ties and effectively supports the physician in treating cardiac arrhythmia. The results of the procedures lead to additional workflow improvements in the cath lab. From a central patient registration to synchronized recording and display of events on the Axiom Sen-sis XP and the full interface with the CARTO XP Mapping System.
The new interface is an additional example of the successful cooperation between Sie-mens and Biosense Webster. Already in 2002, the two companies formed a strategic alliance with the goal to improve the ablation therapy of complex arrhythmias. Since then, additional innovative developments established new possibilities in electrophysiol-ogy. With the CARTOMERGE Software Module, for example, electroanatomical mapping data can be registered with previously recorded 3D CT and MR data.
