At the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2009, this year's "Exhibit Europe Award" went to Siemens Healthcare. Each year the European Society of Radiology (ESR) honors one of the companies exhibiting at the Congress with this award in recognition of its special innovative strengths in science and technology as well as its high commitment to patient care and research. Furthermore, the ESR thus also recognizes the award recipient's exceptional commitment to the goals and advancement of the ECR.
The Congress President, Professor Borut Marincek, presented the award to Dr. Bernd Montag, Chief Executive Officer Imaging & IT Division, Siemens Healthcare Sector. "This award from the European Society of Radiology fills us with great pride. Since we consider the ECR to be one of the most important congresses for radiology, we will also gladly continue to support the ESR in the development of new concepts", said Dr. Bernd Montag.
"Recently we received from Siemens Healthcare the commitment to contribute to the further education activities of the ECR. As the first exhibiting company, Siemens will be placing training materials in the ECR Digital Preview System, also known as EDIPS. This will provide all ESR members with access to over 1700 scientific presentations on radiological questions contributed by leading experts from around the world", said Professor Borut Marincek.
