Siemens Healthcare has appointed Malbinder Assi to the role of Managed Equipment Services (MES) Manager at the Queen’s Hospital site of Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust.
The MES agreement between Siemens Healthcare and Queen’s Hospital was signed in 2003 to look after the maintenance and management of all medical equipment until 2036. Malbinder’s roles will include the general running of the MES department, monitoring monthly equipment performance and delivery of technology through successful implementation of investment plans.
Prior to joining Siemens, Malbinder was a Senior Engineer at Draeger Medical UK where she looked after equipment maintenance at two sites in Hammersmith for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She was also employed by United Medical Enterprise (UME) Services as an equipment specialist involved in PFI projects, providing equipment budgets and procuring new equipment. Malbinder has previously undertaken the role of bio medical team leader for GE Clinical Services/Telematic Biomedical Services (TBS) GB.
Malbinder was attracted to the role at Siemens as it brought together working with PFI projects and Biomedical engineering, two previous areas of employment which she enjoyed. She will manage a team of 10 Siemens personnel on site at the Trust.
“Malbinder is a great asset to the MES team,” states Philip Peace, Business Manager of Managed Equipment Services for Siemens Healthcare. “We look forward to her contribution in leading our Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals on site team and steering our PFI MES agreement to ensure that it meets all targets and that our high level of equipment uptime is maintained.”
