Siemens Healthcare has been awarded this year's ‘Exhibit Europe Award’ at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR). Each year the European Society of Radiology (ESR) honours one of the companies exhibiting at the Congress in recognition of its innovative strengths in science and technology as well as its high commitment to patient care and research. The ESR also recognises exceptional commitment to the goals and advancement of the ECR.
Congress President, Professor Borut Marincek, presented the award to Dr. Bernd Montag, Chief Executive Officer of the Imaging & IT Division for Siemens Healthcare. "This award from the European Society of Radiology fills us with great pride. Since we consider the ECR to be one of the most important congresses for radiology, we will also gladly continue to support the ESR in the development of new concepts,” said Dr. Bernd Montag.
Siemens presented its latest imaging innovations at ECR 2009 under the theme ‘Ask the Ultimate Power in Imaging.’ Solutions included the SOMATOM® Definition Flash, a new generation Dual Source CT; the Biograph™ mCT, the world’s first system for molecular CT; the MAGNETOM Espree-Pink™, a dedicated breast MRI scanner; the ACUSON S2000™ Automated Breast Volume Scanner (ABVS), the first multi-use ultrasound breast system that automatically acquires volume images of the breast; the 3D tomosynthesis-ready MAMMOMAT Inspiration™ mammography system; and the Ysio wi-D™ digital radiography system with mobile detector technology.
