The Siemens Healthcare mobile mammography roadshow is now successfully en-route across England, Scotland and Wales visiting nearly 500 mammographers, radiographers, consultant radiologists, engineers and technicians to preview the latest range of digital mammography solutions in a purpose built mobile trailer.
The roadshow serves a dual purpose of taking the latest innovation to the doorsteps of hospitals enabling staff to easily find out more, plus raising awareness of the benefits of using NHS Supply Chain for fast, efficient procurement.
Jackie Smith, Section Head of Avon Breast Screening Unit was one of the first people to attend the Siemens mobile mammography roadshow, “Visiting us on-site is a great idea and a positive experience for radiographers to see equipment that they may be using in the future. The visit from the Siemens and NHS Supply Chain teams also provided people who are making the purchasing decisions with all the information they need to make informed choices.”
The entire breast care continuum is previewed inside the trailer and includes the MAMMOMAT Inspiration™ Full Field Digital Mammography system, stereotactic biopsy module, and syngo® MammoReport workstation for workflow needs including data transfer to PACS.
“Siemens Healthcare has been working with the NHS Supply Chain since its conception and we are delighted to have teamed up for the mobile mammography venture,” states Steve Holmes, National Sales Manager for Siemens Healthcare. “The aim of the tour is to demonstrate how easy it is to kit out mobile vehicles with the latest digital mammography technology and still enable seamless IT integration back into the radiology department to deliver prompt diagnosis and the highest standard of patient care.”
“Shortly every hospital will be moving to digital mammography and the Siemens roadshow provides a proactive opportunity for all levels of hospital staff to see firsthand how the digital systems work and understand anticipated benefits,” states Emma Dunn, Buyer, Clinical Equipment at NHS Supply Chain. “By teaming up in this way with Siemens Healthcare we are demonstrating a joined-up approach to clinical procurement.”
Siemens is also working with WH Bence Coachworks, specialists in healthcare and emergency vehicles, to fully demonstrate the patient centric build that is possible for the future of digital mammography screening vehicles.
