Siemens Healthcare will be showcasing its innovative ACUSON S2000™ ultrasound system at Euroson 2009, the annual meeting of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB), held in conjunction this year with the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) Annual Scientific Meeting. Siemens representatives will be on stand 1 offering demonstrations and discussing the range of applications and functionality that the S2000 can offer to healthcare providers. There will also be several hands-on support workshops and training sessions.
Ultrasound technology is moving in the direction of strain analytics and the S2000 is the first and only commercially available system with Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse (ARFI). Virtual Touch™ uses an acoustic ‘push pulse’ sequence to compress tissue and provide a qualitative and quantitative assessment of deep tissue stiffness, particularly beneficial for ultrasound liver examinations. The S2000 also features an eSie Touch™ application for elasticity imaging, providing further information about the relative tissue stiffness of breast lesions for women’s health services.
“ARFI is a quick, non-invasive solution, which delivers superior diagnostic information while expanding clinical insight,” said Declan Dunphy, Product Manager for Ultrasound at Siemens Healthcare. “The S2000’s ergonomic design and extensive range of cutting-edge clinical applications extend diagnostic reach and ensure it is suitably equipped for the future of ultrasound evolution.”
To understand more and learn about the clinical advantages of strain imaging, Siemens is running a free lunch time symposium on Monday 7 December.
Euroson is being held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, from the 6-8 December. For more information visit www.euroson2009.org.
