MALVERN, Pa., May 23, 2008 - Siemens Healthcare has announced new enhancements to its Soarian® Scheduling solution as part of its v2.3 release, which is now generally available. A powerful new addition is the Integrated Booking Space, an advanced workspace for scheduling patient appointments, especially complex series and rehab appointments. Soarian Scheduling is an enterprise patient scheduling and resource management solution that helps health systems optimize the delivery of care services.
The Integrated Booking Space combines side-by-side patient and resource schedules, dynamic resource views, advanced calendar features, and automated search – in a single, integrated workspace. Schedulers can select available appointment slots from the resource schedules and multi-select appointment sets from search results, simultaneously. At a glance, healthcare staff can view a patient’s past, current, and future appointments, resource schedules with color-coded appointments and details about appointments, slot configurations and resources. The new workspace is designed to help hospital staff schedule or manage appointments more efficiently and find appointment times when schedules are tight.
The new release also offers workflow enhancements with the Soarian and INVISION® suite of healthcare information technology solutions. With labor costs representing more than half of hospitals’ operating revenue, increases in productivity or streamlining the workflow represent positive steps in reducing waste and increasing service to patients.
