MALVERN, Pa., July 18, 2008 - Siemens Healthcare (www.usa.siemens.com/healthcare) has recently started a picture archiving and communications system (PACS) transition at Sutter Health in Sacramento, Calif.
Sutter Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Northern California and the transition to syngo® Imaging from a legacy SIENET Magic PACS solution will allow Sutter to access pre-existing data and images on the new syngo Imaging PACS.
“When planning to transition to a new, enterprise-wide PACS platform across many of our facilities, we could not tolerate downtime or a cumbersome data migration process,” said Randall Ross, Regional Administrator of Ancillary Services at Sutter Health. “Siemens provides the tools to seamlessly merge our existing data into our new PACS platform.”
As part of the Siemens syngo Suite, syngo Imaging provides a knowledge-driven, role-based and context-sensitive approach to delivering images and information to physicians, including tools for advanced image processing and computer-aided detection (CAD). The PACS will automatically pre-fetch relevant prior images acquired at multiple Sutter sites. Additionally, the system has improved functionality compared with the legacy PACS, and will enable improved communication between technologists, radiologists and clinicians.
Sutter Health can also realize further cost reductions and operational efficiencies from the long-term archive solution that will be installed as part of the syngo Imaging PACS project. Sutter staff will be able to access a centralized data repository for multi-specialty images including radiology, cardiology and neurology.
