Deerfield, Ill., February 23, 2009 – Siemens Healthcare (www.siemens.com/diagnostics) launched a new version (5.0) of the EasyLink Informatics product providing customers with more workflow enhancement opportunities, connectivity to new instruments and a new fully integrated web-based quality control (QC) package. EasyLink connects multiple instruments to a laboratory information system (LIS), to consolidate patient data management. With this addition, Siemens continues to offer a scalable informatics option for all sizes and types of clinical laboratories and also extends connectivity options to more instruments across the clinical laboratory for improved patient & QC data management.
The new web-based QC package allows customers to take advantage of real-time access to data for troubleshooting or external analysis, and to better manage compliance and QC across multiple systems or sites. It also offers audit trails and real-time remote access to patient data for multiple users at multiple sites. All the new time-saving features of the QC package offer customers the opportunity to improve workflow and dedicate resources to other areas of the laboratory.
Additionally, EasyLink version 5.0 supports using multiple languages and has reports and data exports in formats compatible with third-party vendors. It also has many other features and enhancements resulting from customer feedback. By connecting multiple systems with one informatics product, customers can reduce the cost of ownership through networking and data consolidation. Customers also benefit from multiple users in different locations across a network having the ability to remotely access data through a computer.
The EasyLink Informatics product now supports all Dimension® integrated systems, ADVIA® chemistry and immunoassay systems, IMMULITE® immunoassay systems and the Sysmex® hemostasis systems, all sold by Siemens.
