Plainfield, IN., October 1, 2009 –Today, Siemens Healthcare (www.siemens.com/healthcare) will officially open the new Americas Distribution Center, a 300,000 square foot facility in Plainfield, Indiana. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics develops and manufactures diagnostic systems and reagents used to perform blood tests for diagnosing and monitoring patients. The new distribution center in Plainfield leverages advanced facility design to streamline the storage and world wide distribution of critical diagnostic supplies to physicians and clinical laboratories.
The opening of the Americas Distribution Center supplies more than 200 jobs to the Plainfield community. The state-of-the-art building provides 100,000 square feet of refrigerated storage, and high capacity generators maintain a continuous power supply for the temperature controlled building in the event of a power outage.
