Ease of Use
AXIOM Iconos MD delivers many features that make your work easier; firstly, the system is easily brought into operating position with a single button. The large range of system movements ensures that your patient is positioned with maximal ease at the touch of a button and whenever necessary, unrestricted access to patients is possible with the large free space offered by the ergonomic table design – important when caring for immobile patients.
Additionally, the x-ray tube can be rotated to perform chest radiography with a chest stand and non-Bucky exposures on trolley patients. These flexible system positions of the table and x-ray tube lets you perform all routine radiography and fluoroscopy procedures without restrictions – making it an all-rounder in any radiology department.
We have also incorporated an imaging workstation for quick and easy operations. Image and patient data management, post-processing and filming of clinical images are all easily performed on this single workstation with an intuitive user interface to help you streamline your workflow further. It even provides CD recording capabilities to facilitate image transfer and archival if necessary.
Image Quality
With our established experience in imaging technology, we ensure that all components within the imaging chain complement each other perfectly to provide you with outstanding image quality. It starts with our robust Optilix tube to our 1k x 1k CCD and our digital imaging system and our TFT display monitors, we let you diagnose accurately and confidently with our excellent diagnostic images. This in turn benefits your patients and clinical practice as treatment and referrals are managed in a timely manner.
Care
With our CARE programs (Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure), we have an ambitious goal for our fluoroscopy systems: to reduce radiation dose by up to 50%. In this way, we provide maximal radiation protection for both the patients and users. However, it is important to note that dose reduction does not mean compromising on image quality; on the contrary, image quality can be retained while dose is reduced. Some Care features of the AXIOM Iconos MD are:
- CAREMATIC
During fluoroscopy, it automatically derives the exposure data from the fluoroscopy and sets the correct exposure parameters specific to the object. It ensures that images are correctly exposed – assuring you of excellent diagnostic images without test exposures that increase dose. - SUPERVISION
This provides digital fluoroscopy for dose reduction while maintaining the same image quality with only 50%* of the normal fluoroscopy dose. It is especially suitable for time-consuming examinations to provide dose reduction for the physicians, staff and patients. - Fluoro Loop**
During a procedure, it happens that the fluoroscopy scene captures the diagnostic value of the examination. What better way than to be able to store this fluoroscopy scene and handle it as for an acquisition run. With the Fluoro Loop option, it allows the clinician to store crucial fluoroscopy scenes in order to avoid an acquisition run. This not only saves radiation dose and contrast media but increases patient comfort and safety as the procedural routine and time are minimized.

Connectivity
The AXIOM Iconos MD can be configured with various DICOM standards to ensure optimal system integration with your current HIS/ RIS enterprise. As this digital fluoroscopy system is prepared for DICOM connectivity, you have the flexibility to upgrade when the departmental IT infrastructure is in place, thus protecting your investment.
An example of DICOM services is the Worklist function, which enables input of patient data from a Radiological Information System (RIS). This improves workflow in a busy department as it eliminates the need for duplicate registration during procedures.
