MAMMOMAT NovationDR utilizes full-field detector technology based on amorphous selenium (aSe). The flat panel detector uses an amorphous semiconductor to absorb the X-rays and directly generates the electrical signal. Compared to indirect technologies, direct-to-digital technology provides increased spatial resolution (> 7 lp/mm) and significantly better X-ray absorption.
Image quality is further optimized with the system’s advanced image processing software. New image processing algorithms provide excellent visibility of the breast border as well as structures in dense tissue, providing better visualization of microcalcifications and masses.
