SAP provides a special IT solution for hospital outpatient clinics in the shape of SAP® Ambulatory Care Management* (SAP ACM), offering integration of all outpatient-related workflows. SAP ACM has been developed jointly by SAP and Siemens.
Maximum attention has been paid to optimize the interaction between information and the documentation process. For example, a physician needs to see different patient information during a follow-up on a tibia fracture to the chief physician’s secretary who deals with billing.
SAP ACM delivers all required functionality – from appointment scheduling to billing – in role-based work stations tailored precisely to specific outpatient processes in the respective situation.
To guide the user through the treatment, situations can be defined in SAP ACM based on various patient-related factors, such as accident at work, insurance policy, first visit, emergency case.
Activity proposals provide an overview of measures that have been taken or which are pending. Besides phases of clinical treatment, organizational or administrative needs are also taken into account. As part of a powerful, integrated hospital-wide system, authorized staff in outpatient clinics also have access to all information and resources on the inpatient side. Transfers from inpatient to outpatient treatment and vice versa are therefore seamless and incorporated systematically.
