Tübingen, that beautiful ancient town close to the river Neckar with approximately 100.000 residents, offers a special atmosphere which has been preserved throughout time. For more than 500 years the University - one of the oldest in Germany - has been a source for new ideas being pursued by such famous philisophers, poets and scientists such as Hölderlin, Mörike, Hegel, Keppler and many more. However, not only the university but also the old city town situated in one of the most pittoresque landscapes of Germany, played an important role in satisfying the intellectual and emotional needs of many. Nowadays it is well known for its scientific and economical connections all over europe.
The thirteen specialized hospitals of the University form a centre of modern medicine dealing with research, teaching and patient care. There are 6.000 faculty and staff who provide medical care for over 50.000 inpatients and 200.000 outpatients per year and this, as a rule, in particulary difficult cases.
The Department for Diagnostic Radiology, performing more than 3.400 MR exams a year, equiped with alltogether 4 MR scanners, including a 1.5T MAGNETOM Sonata and a 3.0T MAGNETOM Trio, is focussed on ultrafast cardiovascular imaging.
