The University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. It is mainly a research facility for clinical cardiovascular and functional neurological imaging, but it also has a substantial cardiovascular clinical service. The unit is part of Oxford University and opened in 2002, under the directorship of Prof. Stefan Neubauer. We are a development partner with Siemens and in addition to several areas of clinical research, we are developing new MR techniques such as 23Na imaging and 31P MR spectroscopic imaging of cardiac high energy phosphates.
