57 year old male with diffuse bony metastases with an unknown primary
Foci of moderately increased FDG metabolism are noted as follows:
1. Left Helium
2. Two foci involving two separate vertebrae in the upper to mid thoracic spine
3. Right axilla
4. Medial right supraclavicular region
5. Right lateral aspect of the L-5 vertebral body and
6. Intense, focal uptake in the proximal right colon. While physiologic uptake in the bowel is an expected finding, the focality of uptake is suspicious malignancy involving the proximal large bowel
60 minute post I.V. of 9.7 mCi of FDG
Pathology:
Undifferentiated adenocarcinoma of colonic origin
